Rev Deacon's Gathering Words: "Friends and family of the bride and
groom, welcome and thank you for the being here on this important day.
We are gathered together to celebrate the very special love between
Michael Carl Barksdale and Crystal Billings by joining them in marriage.
All of us need and desire to love and to be loved. And, the
highest from of love between two people is within a monogamous,
committed relationship.
Michael and Crystal... your marriage today is the public and legal
joining of your souls that have already been united as one in your
hearts. Marriage will allow you a new environment to share your
lives together, standing together to face life and the world
hand-in-hand.
Marriage is going to expand you as individuals, define you as a couple,
and deepen your love for one another. To be successful, your will
need strength, courage, patience and a really good sense of humor.
So, let your marriage be a time of waking each morning and falling in
love with each other all over again."
Rev Deacon Opening Prayer: "Let's Center ourselves to pray.
As we breath in, we think peace. As we breath out, we think Love.
Mother-Father Spirit, God, the All, we accept your presence among us...
within each and everyone of this large gathering of family and friends.
We accept that as we share our Joy and Love with Michael and Crystal,
your essence is in our words and actions. Guide us so that each of
us, when we give thought to these two individually or as one, our
thoughts are always with peace, love and joy. Guide Michael and
Crystal to a harmonious life filled with wise decisions, joy and
laughter each day, a continual communication through honesty and trust,
shared moments of silence and peace... continual forgiveness when there
is misunderstanding, time together just holding hands, staring into each
other's eyes, smiling and remembering this day with gratitude... their
vows of devotion and the joyful kiss of love sealing them. Thank
you Mother-Father Spirit, for we know our prayers were known and
fulfilled before speaking. And, IT IS SO! Amen."
Rev Deacon's Support from Families: "As we come together to
celebrate the joining of two souls, let us also celebrate and recognize
the joining of two families. There are two kinds of family... the
family you are born into and the family you choose through friendship
and special relationships. Michael and Crystal are blessed with
both of these families. This ceremony seeks to honor the
continuity as well as the growth and possibilities of these
relationships. In honor of the love they feel towards the loving
people in their lives, they have arranged for members of the wedding
party to give flowers to the special people in their lives. This
symbolizes the circle of friends and families being intertwined."
Music...
The flowers are given.
Rev Deacon: "The bride has a special song that is near and dear to
her heart that she would like played and dedicated to her husband to
be."
Song is played.
Rev Deacon: "Michael and Crystal have written their own vows which
they will now read to each other."
Vows are read followed by:
Michael:
"I will love you on the sea
I will love you in a tree
I will love you here and there
I will love you anywhere"
Crystal:
"I will love you every day
I will love you come what may
I will love you more than pie
I will love 'til I die"
Michael:
"On the sea, in a tree"
Crystal:
Every day, come what may"
Michael and Crystal:
"I will love you here and there
I will love you anywhere"
Rev Deacon: "Who has the rings?" Wally hands them to Rev
Deacon.
"Michael, as you place the ring on Crystal's finger, answer me this.
Do you, Michael Carl Barksdale, welcome Crystal Billings as your wife,
offering her your love and encouragement, your trust and respect as
together you create your future?"
Michael: "I do." And, he places the ring on Crystal's
finger.
Rev. Deacon: "Crystal, as you place the ring on Michael's finger,
answer me this. Do you Crystal Billings, welcome Michael Carl
Barksdale as your husband, offering him your love and encouragement,
your trust and respect as together you create your future?"
Crystal: "I do." And, she places the ring on Michael's finger.
Rev Deacon: "Throughout this ceremony Michael and Crystal have
vowed, in our presence, to be loyal and loving towards each other.
The have formalized the existence of the bond between them with words
spoken and with the giving and receiving of rings. Therefore, it
is my pleasure to now pronounce them husband and wife.
