Many religions... many faiths... many
beliefs... all based on the idea of a God or Spirit that we say we believe
in. We take the Holy Day of our specific faith once a week and go to
a place of worship. We become humble for that hour or so. We
leave feeling renewed... saved... a little safer from the devil... an
afterlife of Hell... or whatever other fears of being bad that our
religions, our teachers, our parents, or our peers have taught us.
One day a week for one hour or so we become to a certain extent all those
qualities of a child of a God.
Then, we re-enter our normal everyday lives. The fears return... the
actions of survival that we have grown accustomed to keeping us sane start
again. We may speak from time to time of Holy things; but, our
actions continue to prove that we do not truly believe what we speak of
Holy things... of God or Spirit... of brother and sisterhood as Children
of God... or the teachings that all that we are and all that surrounds us
is God.
We daily kill that which the Bible says we have been been given dominion
over. Let an insect get in our way. We kill it. Let an
animal enter our environments. We kill it. We do not try to be
in harmony with it, or understand its ways. It is to bothersome to
us. We kill it. Have a difference with another... another
color of person... another belief... another nation or country... and we
kill them. And, we have taught our children to kill each
other. Yes!... we, the so-called intelligent species of this world
have even taught our dearest children to kill each other. And, we
continue to allow it.
Daily, the news continues to up-date us on the killings of the day as we
sit on our asses and do nothing to save ourselves or our planet
home. Oh... that's right. We take one hour or so of one day a
week and go save ourselves in worship. One hour of one hundred and
sixty-hours of the week and we feel we have done our job of saving
ourselves from our poor use of the gift of dominion we have been given
over all that lives on our planet home.
And, we are really good at using our governments as scapegoats in our
responsibilities. We hired the members of the government... our
leaders, our militaries, our police forces to protect us. It is
their responsibility... so it is no longer ours.
No... instead, we daily continue to strengthen our lack... or rather our
Lie of a belief in a God of Love and Peace.
