A PERFECT NOW...

FRIENDS-

This morning I awakened... said, "Good morning Spirit"... walked out and hit 'play' on the remote for the CD player to start Medwyn Goodall's 'Moon Goddess' (definitely good music)... walked into the kitchen and started the water for my Cafe Francais Coffee with a touch of Ouzo... pet my black cat Salem for a minute... then, I opened my eyes. "Oh Shit! Another day of soup." Living near the beach brings many mornings gray and soupy like this. I do not do well in this environment... up-until-now. YES!... up-until-now.

"...up-until-now" is a statement I try to remember to use at the end of any negative statement I have said. It is something I learned from Rev. Brian Anderson. Such a wise statement. I have taught it to many around me. It is putting a stop to something I just set in motion through my stupidity. "I do not do well in this environment." Sets in motion a belief system. "Up-until-now"... stops that belief system from becoming a part of my karmic law. A continuance of something that can ruin my day.

Now, it is smart to say something following... like... "The sun is always out in my mind and I am going to enJOY this day through my mind not my eyes." Yes... that is the smart thing to do. Said a negative statement... put a stop to its motion... and then, set a positive statement in motion.

How many times a day do we say something negative? "I am tired." "I am cold." "I am hot." "I feel ill." "I don't see how I am going to make ends meet." "Damn this freeway traffic pisses me off." And, so many more. All these statements can ruin... if not the day, at least moments of it. Personally, I do not want to ruin even a moment of the day, much less set something in motion that I have to pay for later. Although the statements may appear to be just in the now, they set a pattern in motion. And besides, they do not represent what my Truth should be... "I am alive and full of joy." "My body is at a comfortable temperature and I feel good." "I am healthy and able to do what I want." "This traffic jam gives me some time to communicate with Spirit... to say more affirmations about who and what I am."

"...up-until-now." Three little words of great importance to my well-being. Thank you and Bless you Rev. Brian for this pearl of a wisdom.

Wisdom - In the big 'mutha' dictionary... the power or faculty of forming the fittest and best judgment in any matter presented for consideration. It also says... godliness. Little dictionary says... understanding and knowledge. And, the Thesaurus doesn't even list it.

Well, since I started to think about Wisdom, one thing has kept entering my thoughts. I do not really have to think about Wisdom now... do I. I have the way of knowing every answer... every action I need to take in any situation. I just need to have enough Wisdom to stop and use the yes/no technique. I don't know how many of you are using this technique by now; but, it has been suggested enough?... But, with the yes/no technique, I have used great Wisdom... for I have invited Spirit into the decision.

Ernest Holmes explains this as 'inductive reasoning'. As Holmes states: "There are but two processes of reasoning known to the human mind; one is inductive and the other is deductive. Inductive reasoning is an inquiry into the truth; it is a process of analysis. Deductive reasoning is that process of reasoning which follows an already established premise. It is from the whole to a part. Here is an example of inductive reasoning: I look about and say, "John Smith is good; Mary Jones is good; my neighbors are good; consequently, God must be good." This is a process of analysis which leads to the conclusion that the Cause back of all things must be Good. Deductive reasoning would operate this way: "God is Good; consequently, Mary Jones, John Smith and my neighbors must be good"; because God is Good they cannot be otherwise." Wow... that's cool. God is Good, therefore I am good.

Holmes goes on to state: "Since inductive reasoning is an analysis, which is always an inquiry into truth, it follows that God can reason only deductively. That which is Infinite does not have to inquire into the Truth; consequently, there can be no inductive process of reasoning, either in the Spirit or the soul of the Universe. There cannot be any inductive reasoning in the Spirit, because It already knows all things."

Spirit already knows all things. Well... my inductive reasoning tells me that I have made a lot of mistakes in my life. I know I have paid for them and am still paying for them... up-until-now. I have proven that I am not always as wise as I think I am. My inductive reasoning also tell me that I can have deductive reasoning by always consulting Spirit. And, I can have the consultation of Spirit by utilizing the gift I have been given of the yes/no technique... for I have inductively reasoned that it works.

I don't know people... it makes me wonder why when we have such techniques to work with... why we do not use them. We have already proven that working on EGO (Human Experience Intelligence... or Edging God Out), that the Ego can lead us into heaven or hell... good or evil. What is it that causes us to play Russian Roulette with ourselves? It is not being very loving of ourselves... to do such. It is not being very Wise. Well, I am tired of living this way. I have been tired of it a long time. Now, I am starting to use the Wisdom I have acquired over these fifty-five years and going for the deductive reasoning. I am using the yes/no technique more constantly in my decision making. I am not willing to gamble with my life on whether I am designing a life of Joy and Fun... or Sadness and Hardships. And, as Holmes says, "Spirit already knows all things."

"Thank you Mother-Father Spirit... You gave us a wonderful gift in an effort to make our lives more Joyous and Fun. You gave us a way to get past our littleness and really know the answers. You gave us the freedom of choice with our birth. Right now, I choose to remember that I have this tool... at all times. When faced with a decision, I will stop... balance myself... bending slightly at the knees... arms at side... ask my question... submit to the Wisdom... and let Spirit show me the Truth. And, IT IS SO."

Namaste... Rev DEACON
