Let
us establish that the Kingdom of Heaven is a state of mind that we can achieve and that
through constant discipline and awareness of our every though, that we can live in the
state of Heaven.
Let us also establish that not living in a State of Heaven comes from
separation of self, not separation from a God somewhere up in the sky (heavens). If
God is what we are, then the separation is from self. One might ask how this
happens? Through living in the physical world and developing thoughts and opinions
based on one's experiences. What I term as: Human Experience Intelligence.
Now, if God is what we are, then,, we have a Spiritual Self which is
our real beginning. This means that we also have a Spiritual Intelligence that is
all knowing. If one is like myself, this Spiritual Intelligence has been buried deep
by the Human Experience Intelligence. Years of input by first, one's parents, then
by one's conventional religious teachers, then by one's school teachers, and then by
anyone else who has had the availability to feed one's intellect with their thoughts or
opinions.
How does one unite the Human Experience Intelligence with the
Spiritual Intelligence, or "Seek the Kingdom of Heaven"?...By using the Human
Experience Intelligence in a disciplined manner to uncover or neutralize those thoughts
and opinions that are hiding the Spiritual Intelligence.
Doesn't appear to be very simple, does it. Of course, that
depends on just how deep a hole one has dug him/herself while using the Human Experience
Intelligence...or in other words, just how damn unhappy one really has become! It is
said that the only place one can really bounce back from is the bottom of the hole.
Personally and very unfortunately, it appears that that is where I had to be before I got
it right.
Okay, what have I found that it takes to achieve a "State of
heaven"? First, I had to make-up my mind and make a commitment that I desired
happiness (State of Heaven) every second of my life. No more bullshit! And, I
do mean a commitment. Whatever it took on my part, whatever changes in my life that
were necessary. That meant letting go of several addictions that I had grown
accustomed to; such as...the time spent with those I really was not comfortable with, just
to have others in my environment...the need to work at a job I did not want to do, just to
satisfy the responsibility of paying my bills...the need to sit down in front of the
television set each evening, just to be able to escape from the daily stress...the need
to share words I did not believe in, just to fit into the conversation others were
having...the need to compromise myself, just to feel like I was part of the life that was
going on around me...whatever I found to be part of my routine that really was not
bringing me happiness, peace of mind, or was not fun to do anymore.
In their place, I first found a religious institute that would teach
instead of preach about Spirit qualities. This led me to the Church of Religious
Science, otherwise known as Science of Mind Centers. Here, through workshops and
classes, I found a belief system that really appealed to what I had been subconsciously
believing for all my life. But, I also found that when I felt confident in my
understanding, and began to deter from constantly attending the Sunday Services and
participating in workshops and classes, that after a short period of time, I again
returned to old habits and was experiencing the same boring hum-drum experience and
unhappiness as before. My lesson to learn was that when you find people of like
thinking, you discipline yourself to have continual contact; and, if you find a teaching
that does bring you closer to the "Kingdom of God" that you must continue
studying and practicing of those teachings on a constant basis.
I mentioned finding people of like thinking...this is important.
It is one thing to learn a new way of living and feel comfortable with it. It
is also something different to try to implement these new teachings in your life.
Personally, I have found few people that daily live their lives using
"Spiritual Intelligence"; or, even making a meager effort in living by the
lessons taught in the Holy Bible. If one has themselves surrounded by this type of
people, then one would be bombarded constantly by their thoughts and opinions. This
will cause one a constant struggle trying to implement any new thinking meant to improve
one's life. So, if one is serious about first "Seeking the Kingdom of
Heaven", one must refrain from socializing with people who have shown to not be of
like thinking. Now, this is a pretty drastic action. And to most, would be an
almost impossibility. This is understandable. However, this little boulder can
be overcome by disciplining one's self to attend every function possible that those of
like thinking attend. Sunday services are a must. Class work and workshops are
instrumental. Discussion groups are helpful. What I am really saying here is
that the more time one spends with people who are also sincerely trying to improve their
lives, the less effect those that do not have similar thinking will have on one.
As one begins to unite his/her "Human Experience
Intelligence" with his/her "Spiritual Intelligence", one will find that
greater good will constantly be attracted into their life. As this begins to happen,
one will all of a sudden notice that more and more happiness is apparent. That which
previously was happening to cause unhappiness seems to be disappearing form one's
environment. You see, as one becomes more intune with his/her "Spiritual
Intelligence", one starts to realize that he/she is really Spirit (God) in action.
Yes that is a bold statement. But, all religious beliefs profess that God is
all there is. If this is so, then what does one think he or she is? If god is
all there is, then that must be what one is. Now, if one is God, then whatever one
believes about God, one must believe those same things about him/her-self. That
means that one creates his/her own world. If one really does recognize this, then one must
further realize how important it is to control what goes into one's mind. Because
what one allows to go into one/s mind will certainly be reflected into the environment one
is constantly creating for him/her-self.
Now, that one knows one is God, and one knows that within each person
there is a "Spiritual Intelligence", the God or True Self, then one must start
using the "Human Experience Intelligence" that currently is recognizing these
facts...to diligently "SEEK YE FIRST THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN". As to
"AND, ALL ELSE WILL BE GIVEN UNTO YOU"? Well, if one can discover that you
are God, then, your knowledge of your Godliness will bring you all else that you can
desire.
