I was going through some old boxes of paperwork and I found this letter of introduction from Rev. Gertrude Jago that she sent to many Ministers and Practitioners of churches in Arizona and Southern California.  It still brings tears to my eyes to read and remember how much faith she had in my abilities.  This 85 year old lady was a minister of both Science of Mind and Unity.  She had built study groups throughout Europe for Holmes and actually trained under him.  And, was very respected by those of both spiritual communities.  I miss her wisdom immensely.  Thank you Gertrude for the time you shared with me.  I love you!

I thought this would serve as a introduction for those that do not know me.  Yes… quite an introduction from a very spiritual and gentle woman. 

Here is the letter:

November 27, 1989 

To:  Ministers, Practitioners and Friends 

As many of you already know, I returned to the Yuma Science of Mind Center this past August when I heard it needed a minister and was loosing its affiliation with the main organization.  I also knew I was needed there to guide a man.  In the third week there, this man dressed like a biker entered the church looking for a Science of Mind magazine.  I knew he was the man. 

I asked him some questions and discovered that he was a business consultant.  However, he had just completed a cleansing diet to finish his drug addiction.  Through more conversation, I found out that he had studied under Rev. Betty Mendizza, Rev. Peggy Bassett, and Betty Klump, Head of Practitioners at Founders, and had become a Practitioner in 1978.  I immediately hired him to operate the church business office.  And, shortly thereafter he became the Vice-President of the Board of the church. 

I would like to introduce him to you.  Although he is R. Thomas Stankey, he is called Deacon.  In the few months I have had the opportunity to share time with him, he has proven to be one of the most powerful Practitioners I have ever met.  The five Practitioners here have taken to calling him a Practitioner’s Practitioner.  And, he is a Practitioner that can listen to peoples’ problems and not let them affect his belief when doing treatments. I refer many of my talkers to him.

I have discovered that Deacon has an analytical process and logic that makes clear the understanding of anything.  I have also heard Spirit speak through him in such a manner that I am greatly inspired.  His knowledge and use of Science of Mind is that of someone who did personal training with Ernest.  He has an understanding of the Universal Laws that would put many of us Ministers and Practitioners to shame.  He believes in honesty regardless of consequences and to him there are no limitations. 

After learning that he has done seminars and workshops for the businesses and corporations he has consulted, I started pressuring him to do a Sunday lecture.  He has finally agreed and will be doing one at our church here in Yuma on January 14, 1990.  I not only invite all of you to attend, but I also highly recommend that you get to know and listen to this spiritual man.
