During
the course of looking through old assignments and notes from the Science
of Mind classes I have taken through the years, I came across a
'bookmarker' that we created at the Yuma Science of Mind Center back in
1989. These were created for those taking class work or meditation
classes at the Center as a Special Gift. On them were printed the
words: "Meditation is not what you think" - Ashok Davar Now that can be taken two ways... not what you think it is... or... not when you are thinking. In other words, if you are thinking, you are not meditating. Most around me know that I meditate, use to teach classes on the subject, and occasionally facilitate guided meditations. So naturally, I am questioned consistently about this subject. Meditation to me is prayer. A communion between my human experience intelligence and the One Mind of the Spirit that is really the Mind in each of us. It is moving past the chatter of the human intelligence and listening to that which can only be found in the silence. Listening and found... are not the right word?... Heard... is not the right word either?... Listening needs to change to being quiet. For, I do not really hear the Spirit talk to me. I just know something. It communicates to me 'in knowing'. This all is explained better with a statement from the Bible: "Be Still and Know!" Just a moment of thoughts...
