About a week back, I was sharing some information about myself with
someone I have recently gotten to know and appreciate. When I was done and walking her to
her car, she turned around and gave me a hug and then looked in my face and said, "I
give you my permission to....!" Now, I do know the power of that. I also had not
heard it for a long time. Yesterday, while visiting my step-dad in the hospital with my mother, I decided to leave them alone and find my way back out of the hospital for awhile. Even after walking in and out of hospitals for many years in my previous career, I still have a tightness of breath in them. Anyway, I found my way outside and turned around facing this beautiful eight story hospital and leaned against a pillar to relax. Then, I started to make an affirmation for the health of all those within the building. In the middle of this statement, out comes, "I forgive you for anything that you are harboring that is causing you your dis-ease." Now, that caught me off guard. But the more I thought about it, the more I understood it. First, I do believe that we are all connected in the One Life. I also believe that we all share the same One Mind. If we all share the One Mind, then why can I not as a part of each persons mind in this hospital help them find a way to forgive themselves? Why can I not give them permission to forgive themselves by first forgiving them myself...as a part of them? The more I thought about this, the more I recognized its reality. I also found that it brought more joy and gratitude to me as I made the statements. So, right now, I AM choosing to forgive each and every individual I pass for what ever causes them "dis-ease", and thereby, give them permission to forgive themselves regardless of what needs forgiven.
